3rd Semester – 3rd weekend workshop with Barbara Baldwin
October 15 & 16
"Special Needs" often refers to special needs within an educational context which includes but not limited to autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, and epilepsy. Children with special needs may have mild learning disabilities or profound mental retardation; food allergies or terminal illness; developmental delays that catch up quickly or remain entrenched; occasional panic attacks or serious psychiatric problems.
School readiness, a term used frequently in the in pre-school and kindergarten setting, means that a child is ready to enter a social and educationally based environment. In other words, the child is ready to start the process of learning how to do things independently. This is an important subject for parents and teachers to know if their children are ripe for formal schooling. If otherwise, learning difficulties will surface which induce psychological problem.
